A fine French 18K pink gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless pocket watch with a chronograph, circa 1890. The front cover with an engraved monogram, a button at 12 for start/stop and a return-to-zero function of the chronograph and a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute track, outermost fifths of second divisions with Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary seconds and gold Breguet hands. A rhodium-plated movement, 35 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Cuvette signed.
