A French vari-coloured gold open faced keywound verge watch with associated gilt chatelaine, circa 1780. Keywound verge movement, chain fusée. White enamel dial with Roman numerals. The bezels decorated with engraved intertwining bands, the hinged case back with a vari-coloured gold scene in relief of Cupid and Venus in a meadow, in a scroll and foliage surround, the vari-coloured gilt chatelaine with panels depicting musical trophies in relief and openwork links on each side. Dial and movement signed.
