Silver open faced watch with Guillaume balance

A rare Swiss silver open faced keyless lever deck watch with power reserve made by Paul Ditisheim in La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1919. Gilt finished lever movement with 21 jewels and a Guillaume balance. The silver cuvette engraved No. 64987 Premier Prix de L’Etat au Concours des Chronomètres de Poche de 1ère Classe 1921 de l’Observatoire Astronomique de Neuchâtel Paul Ditisheim S.A. La Chaux-de-Fonds. Silvered matte dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, 52 hour power reserve indicator at 12 and blued steel spade hands. A water resistant type case with screw bezel and screw back centred by the engraved inscription Paul Ditisheim 64987 Compensateur Guillaume and a large ball shaped crown. Case, cuvette, dial and movement signed and numbered, case also stamped GS for The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co. Ltd. Comes with a Neuchâtel Bulletin d’Observatoire and two boxes.
