A fine and rare Swiss, 18K rose gold hunting cased, keyless, minute repeating pocket watch with a chronograph, circa 1880. Made for the North American market. A solid, polished case, front cover with engraved monogram, the interior of the back cover with engraved names. Hinged gold cuvette. Three-piece, white enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute and chronograph divisions, red-painted Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. A half-plate, maillechort movement, Geneva striping decoration, 21 jewels, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Movement signed, case numbered.
