A decorative, English gold enamel verge pocket watch “à quatre couleurs“, circa 1770.
Gold enamel case with diamond-set bezel, the back cover with chased decoration in high relief “à quatre couleurs” and a polychrome enamel medallion depicting a gallant scene, diamond thumbpiece, diamond crown, and a large lateral hinge. Signed, diamond-set, enamel dial with radial Roman hours and filigree hands. Gilt, full plate movement, keywind and signed, with chain/fusee, squared baluster movement pillars, three-arm steel balance, engraved and florally pierced balance bridge.
