Pre balance spring single hand pendant watch

A fine French gilt brass pre balance spring, single hand pendant watch by David du Chemin A Rouen, circa 1640. Case engraved with repeated pattern, round pendant, loose ring, curved in edge, formed of eight lobes. Gilt brass dial, champlevé radial Roman numerals, half-hour markers, central filled with engraved floral decoration. Blued steel arrowhead hand. Hinged, gilt brass full plate movement, turned baluster pillars, fusee and gut, short train, verge escapement, circular iron foliot, irregular cock secured by a screw, pierced and engraved gilt brass click for the ratchet wheel mainspring set up. Signed on the back plate.
