Gold and enamel hunting repeating lever watch

Very fine, rare Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel hunting cased grande and petit sonnerie trip quarter repeating keyless clock watch, circa 1880. Rhodium plated movement signed by the watchmaker, Geneva Striping decoration, two train, tandem winding, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and golden wheels. Polished, frosted/polished and bevelled steel parts, counterpoised lever, striking and repeating with two hammers on two gongs activated by a trip slide on the band. In grande sonnerie striking, both the hours and the quarters are struck at each quarter. In petite sonnerie striking, ‘tingtang’ quarters are struck at the quarters, but the hour is only struck at the hour. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, decorated with silver and gold pattern, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, blued steel spade hands, signed by the retailer. Heavy, large, polished, bassine et filet case with coin edge, slides for strike/silent and grande/petite sonnerie selection on the band. Hinged gold, cuvette engraved with an enamel monogram, signed under the dial by the retailer. Casemaker punched with initials ‘P.F.’. Comes with a leather box.
