A heavy deck watch with stoppable seconds, made by John Lecomber in Liverpool, England, circa 1878. This watch has a numbered full hunter case, which is crafted from 18 carat gold, the English Hallmarks from 1878 and the case maker’s punch JL. The white enamel dial is marked “Decimal Chronograph, September 13 1875, Registered”, has a chronograph scale from 0 to 300 seconds with a black hand, Roman hour numerals and gold hands. The numbered movement has an English precision lever escapement with stoppable center seconds.
The case and movement have matching numbers and the movement is signed.
