Pocket watch with duplex escapement

An extremely heavy chronometer with a duplex escapement, made by John Gibson in London, England, circa 1809. This watch features an extremely heavy and high quality case crafted from 18 carat gold and bears the master’s mark “DW”. The enamel dial features an outer minute and hour track with Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and high quality gold hands. The numbered and very fine movement is equipped with a duplex escapement, a magnificently engraved cock, a large chronometer balance and a diamond end stone.
The case and movement bear matching numbers and the dial, dome and movement are signed.
