Pink gold pocket watch with coloured enamel dial

An important 18 carat gold pocket watch with rack lever escapement, made by Robert Roskell in Liverpool, England, circa 1809. The open faced numbered case is crafted from 18 Carat pink gold, has matching London Hallmarks from 1809, the master’s punch HA or VH, the original dome and a case band with a lever to stop the seconds. The unusually cream coloured enamel dial has black Roman hour numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial with black Arabic numerals at six o’clock. The movement has a rack lever escapement, a diamond end stone, and a cock marked ‘Patent’.
