Gold full hunter chronometer
–
A heavy hunting cased pocket watch with chronometer escapement made by C.A. Hardy in London, England, circa 1850. The numbered case of this watch, which was crafted from 18 carat gold, has a coined band, maker’s mark H.E.D., is engraved on both sides and has a decoratively engraved, vacant cartouche on the front. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. The key wound movement has a very fine English pivoted detent chronometer escapement, large chronometer balance and screwed chatons. The movement is signed.
