A fine English 18 carat gold pair cased key wind pocket watch made by John Cragg in London, circa 1850. The gilt ¾ plate movement with an English lever escapement, engraved balance cock, a plain three arm balance and diamond end stone. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel fleur-de-lys hands. The polished inner case with a foliate engraved band, pendant and bow, and an engraved image of two hounds with a foliate surround on the back, the back of the polished outer case engraved with a scene depicting a figure on horseback surrounded by foliate decoration. Dial and movement signed, the case stamped F&Co.
