Ward & Son
Ward & Son, was founded in 1825 by John Ward, who started a family run watchmaking business. Over the years, they became known for their high quality timepieces, including pocket watches and later wristwatches. The company thrived during the 19th century, benefiting from the growing demand for precision timekeeping.
Throughout their history, Ward & Son adapted to changes in technology and consumer preferences. They often showcased their craftsmanship at exhibitions, gaining recognition and awards. The brand maintained a strong local presence and became a respected name in the watchmaking industry.
Ward & Son is no longer active as a watchmaking business. The company faced challenges in the 20th century, particularly with the rise of mass produced and quartz watches, which led to a decline in traditional watchmaking.
