A heavy gold full hunter cased watch with chronometer escapement, made by C.A. Hardy in London, England, circa 1850. The numbered case of this watch with master’s mark HED was crafted from 18 Carat gold is engine turned on both lids. The white enamel dial is glazed and has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock with Arabic numerals and filigree steel hands. The movement has a very fine English pivoted detent chronometer escapement, a large chronometer balance, screwed chatons and key winding.
The movement is signed.
