Gold lever watch with engraved hunting case by F.B. Adams & Sons

A fine, hunting cased gold English pocket watch with fusee, chain and English lateral lever escapement, circa 1850.
Polished 18K gold case with an eagle engraved on the front cover. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and pierced spade hands. Gilt brass full plate with turned pillars, fusée with chain and maintaining power. Signature on Movement and Case.

F.B. Adams & Sons, English watch manufacturer and wholesaler
FB Adams & Sons was based in London (Clerkenwell), 21 St. John’s Square. The owners were Francis Bryant Adams, his son of the same name and George William. There is evidence that the company existed until at least 1861. Today there is a pocket watch movement in the Mathematik-Physikalischer Salon in Dresden.
