An extremely heavy English pair-cased deck watch with early stoppable seconds, ruby cylinder and repeater on bell, circa 1815.
Fully decorated 18K gold outer case with Hallmarks London 1815 and case maker’s punch LC (Louis Comptesse); inner case very finely pierced; and cuvette signed and numbered. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and pink gold hands. Early ruby cylinder movement with stoppable seconds, diamond endstone, plates signed and numbered, repeater on bell.
