Gold verge with repoussé rococo decoration

An important English 22 carat gold repoussé, agate and diamonds pocket watch, circa 1750. Double body, chased repousse rococo gold decoration, six translucent agate panels with a star design at the centre, twelve small diamonds and a large diamond in the centre. The bezel is set with six panels of translucent striated agate over foiled metal. Inner: polished, shuttered winding aperture. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, and blued steel Beetle and Poker hands. Gilt brass, full plate movement with Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass one footed English cock, pierced and engraved with asymmetrical foliage, rack and pinion regulator with silver dial. Signed and numbered on the dial and back plate.
