A lovely French gold and porcelain pocket watch, circa 1750. A Louis XV case, back painted mostly in white, with two cherubs seated on clouds and with a tethered bird. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute ring with five minute Arabic figures, winding aperture between 3 and 4 o’clock and gold Louis XV hands. Gilt brass, full plate movement with pentagonal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel tree arm balance, flat balance spring, continental cock, polished steel endplate. Signed on the movement.
