French 18K gold quarter repeating verge watch Circa 1750

Four coloured gold pocket watch

A very fine quarter repeating pocket watch made by Jean Baptiste Dutertre in Paris, France,  circa 1750. The repoussé case of this watch was crafted from four colour gold and features pierced sound openings, diamond set opening buttons, a bell and a scene of a man offering a present to a woman on the back lid. The white enamel dial features Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals and original sun shaped hands. The numbered movement is equipped with a verge escapement and repeats the hours and quarter hours.
The movement is signed.
