A fine English, silver quarter repeating pair-cased pocket watch, circa 1760.
Outer: pierced, chased and engraved with foliate scrolls. Inner: polished bezel, pierced, chased and engraved with foliate scrolls and a grotesque mask. Gilt brass dust cover. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute markers and Arabic five-minute numerals. Blued steel beetle and poker hands. A gilt brass full-plate movement, tapered cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, pierced and engraved balance cock, diamond endstone, silvered regulation dial, repeating with two hammers on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant, stop lever in the bezel. Movement and dust cap signed.
