A decorative double-sided clock watch with quarter-hour/ hour self strike, stoppable centre seconds and calendar, circa 1780.
Bronze case, fire gilt, finely florally hand engraved and pierced, a goutte, bell with signature, large lateral hinge. The front dial is enamel, radial Roman hours, the inner scale for moon age and moon phase, gold spade hands. Back is regulator enamel dial, four subsidiary chapter rings for indications of the hours with Roman numerals at 12, for Strike/Silent at 3, centre seconds, gold hands. Full plate movement, frosted, gilt, chain/fusee, two barrels, two hammers, verge escapement.
