Extremely fine large marine chronometer

An extremely fine large marine deck chronometer with eight day movement and “auxiliary compensation balance”, made by Kelvin, White & Hutton in London, England, circa 1920. This chronometer comes in a three part mahogany box with an original ivory plaque, in which the open faced glazed watch is gimbal suspended. The silvered dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock, an eight day power reserve indicator at twelve o’clock and blued steel hands. The highly refined eight day movement has a detent chronometer escapement with helical hairspring and an extremely large chronometer balance.
Dial and box have matching numbers and are signed.
