Gold cylinder watch for the Chinese market

A very fine and rare, 18 Carat gold, pearl and emerald set pocket watch with a pearl set dial, circa 1830. Pearls & Emeralds by Bautte & Moynier à Genève, for the Chinese market. Two body sprung and hinged bezel set with 31 emeralds, each surrounded by a border of seed pearls, the back with a border of 31 emeralds to match the bezel, the centre set entirely with pearls and seven emeralds, pendant and bow decorated to match. Matte and engine-turned gold dial with radial Roman numerals set with seed pearls. Gold Breguet hands, gilt brass three-quarter plate movement, spring barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance recessed within the movement, flat balance spring, index regulator. Case marked BM.
