Gold open faced key winding lever

A very fine English 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl-set pocket watch, made by W.J. Upjohn in London, circa 1820. Round shaped gold case, both bezels set with pearls, the backis decorated with translucent imperial blue enamel over an engine turned ground and also set with pearls. The band, pendant, and bow are chased with floral decoration. Gold dial, engine turned center with Roman numerals on a plain reserve, outer minutes track, and original blued steel spade hands. A hinged, gilt brass, full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, lateral lever escapement with the lift on the pallets, converted probably from cylinder escapement, plain steel three arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, one-footed cock pierced and engraved withflowers, mask and foliage, diamond endstone. Signature on the movement.
