Five individuals with the last name Perigal are mentioned in the London Clockmakers’ Company records from the eighteenth century. It is possible that this particular watch was crafted by either Francis Perigal, the founder of the family who operated a shop in the Royal Exchange from 1741-1770, or his son, also named Francis, who was active from 1748-1775.
