Gold open faced duplex pocket watch

An unique English 18 carat gold, enamel, pearl-set pocket watch with center seconds made by Morisset & Lukins in London, circa 1795. Made for the Chines market. Two split pearl rows bezels, pendant and bow with split pearl decoration, the spring loaded back opened by a push piece in the pendant and overlaid with translucent royal blue enamel over wavy line engine turning. The center with a varicoloured gold paillon rosette, paillon border to match. White enamel dial with gold hands, the dial numerals are interspaced with 12 rubies. A full plate, gilt movement, ringed cylindrical pillars, going barrel, duplex escapement, brass three arm balance, flat balance spring with index regulator. Dial, case and movement are signed.
