A fine English 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch with duplex escapement, circa 1862. Made for the Hispanic market. The case with London hallmarks for 1862-1863. The case is made by Alfred Stram (AS), the covers, band and bezels are entirely chased and engraved with floral and foliate decoration. The front with an engraved coat of arms and a hinged gold cuvette.

Silver dial with applied gold decoration, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost applied gold leaf and flower pattern. The centre applied a gold flower basket, subsidiary seconds and blued steel fleur de lis hands. Frosted gilt movement, fusee and chain, three quarter plate, jewelled to the third with screwed gold chatons, duplex escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, engraved cock with diamond endstone, index regulator. Dial and movement signed, case numbered.
