An English, heavy, gentleman’s, half-quarter repeating pocket watch with duplex escapement, circa 1864.
18  Carat gold, engine-turned case, with an engine-turned band and florally engraved edges. Gold dome with case maker’s punch mark FH (Frederick Humbert of London) and pusher for repetition via florally engraved pendant. Gilt dial, engine-turned centre, with applied Roman radial hours, extra seconds, applied three-colour gold floral ornaments and gold Breguet hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted and gilt, two hammers / two gongs, chain/fusee, three-arm monometallic balance with three screws and chatoned diamond endstone on balance. Movement signed: London, Sold by Edwd. Smith 49 Lr. Sackville St., Dublin.
