A very fine, heavy, English half hunting minute repeating pocket watch in best movement design AD.Fmsz with chronograph, circa 1888.
The 18 Carat gold polished case has a gold dome and case maker’s punch mark HMF (Harrison Mill Frodsham). The signed, numbered, off-white enamel dial is Willis type, with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds at nine, 60 minute counter at three, and blued double spade hands. And the frosted, gilt 3/4 plate movement has screwed gold chatons, finely matted chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, two hammers / two gongs, English lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, blued balance spring with a terminal curve, index spring fine adjusting device, chatoned diamond endstone on balance and is numbered and signed: Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand London, By Appointment to the Queen.
