Small triple cased coach clock with oriental pearls
–
A museum coach clock with self strike for the Turkish, made by Markwick Markham in London, England, circa 1790. This small coach clock with triple case was crafted from 18 carat gold, its outer and middle cases are covered with snake skin, the middle case is decorated with an oval enamel plaque framed by large Oriental pearls with a top quality painting, the 3rd case is leton’ed, open worked and has two winding openings for two barrels. The white enamel dial has Ottoman numerals and the probably original gold hands. The movement has an Ottoman signed verge escapement with hour self strike on a bell and very beautiful pillars.
The dial and movement are signed.
