A very fine, heavy English hunting cased pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph and English lever escapement, circa 1897.
Frosted gilt 3/4 plate movement, signed, screwed chatons, large gold screw compensation balance, free-sprung balance spring, chatoned diamond endstone on balance. Signed, enamel, off-white dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, 60 minute counter, and gold spade hands. 18 Carat gold, tiered, polished case, gold dome, case maker’s punch mark FT (Frederick Thoms), pusher for chronograph at 12 and 2.
