A very fine, English precious gold enamel verge pocket watch diamond and half pearl studded with matching chatelaine, circa 1810.
Gold case, back with translucid cobalt blue enamelling on a lavishly engine turned background, framed by half pearls, a narrow white and blue enamelled border, and a central diamond studded and glazed cartouche holding a lock of hair. The bezel is set with half pearls within a fine white and blue ornamental strip. Matching chatelaine with six panels of various sizes, engine turned with translucid cobalt blue enamelling, with a diamond each. Pearl studded chains connect the two largest panels. A white carnelian signet with engraved flower and slogan A Vous, a small watch key and two pearl set tassels are connected to the main panel by four pearl studded chains.
Enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals and arrow hands. Elegant full plate movement, key wind, applied florally engraved ornaments, fire gilt, signed, chain/fusée, three arm steel balance, open work engraved balance cock decorated with acanthus foliage and a profile portrait, and chatoned large diamond endstone.

They were renowned watchmakers of luxuriously decorated watches; from the quality of its diamonds and pearls, this watch compares to the famous piece owned by Queen Charlotte, who received her as a present from Louis XVI. The elaborate finish of the case and Chatelaine indicates that no effort was spared to guarantee the watch’s outstanding quality.
