A remarkable splendour English pocket watch with centre seconds, for the Chinese market, circa 1780.
Brass gilt case with florally engraved bezels, a border of inlaid white, green and red ornamental stones and a glazed back lid. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, large lateral hinge and gold heart hands. The back of the dial with Chinese letters regarding a restoration on 07/18/1883 during the Qing-Dynasty. Full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, pierced and lavishly florally engraved, crown wheel with horizontal and vertical teeth, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge with regulator.
