Silver pocket watch with six complications
–
A museum quality astronomical pocket watch with six complications made by Richard Jarrett in London, England, circa 1690. The case of this watch was crafted from silver and features a rotating locking disc for the winding hole on the back. The extremely rare dial features a time display at 6 o’clock with Roman hour numerals, half hour markers and a single hand, a solar and lunar calendar with phases of the moon, an aperture displaying the lengths of day and night, and the months, and further iron hands. The movement is magnificently decorated and fitted with an early English verge escapement, tulip pillars and an early hairspring.
The movement is signed.
