Gold and enamel verge watch in triple cases

A fine English 18K gold and enamel triple-cased verge pocket watch made for the Islamic market, circa 1810. Alpine Watermill by George Prior. The outer case with scalloped edges, a glazed back, the bezels are in light green champlevé enamel with translucent red enamel flower and leaf decoration. The middle case also with scalloped edges, on the back a polychrome enamel alpine scene depicting a watermill on the banks of a stream in the foreground, the border translucent red enamel, the bezels with opaque azure champlevé enamel decorated to match the outer case. A polished inner case punched AN. White enamel dial with Islamic hours, outer minute track, Islamic five-minute numerals and blued steel Breguet hands. A gilt-brass full plate movement, elaborate pierced vase pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, one-footed cock pierced and engraved with asymmetrical foliage, rack and pinion regulator with a silver plate with Turkish numerals. Dial and movement signed.
