An extraordinary pair-cased verge pocket watch with exceptional 6 hour dial, day and month indication and early auxiliary seconds, circa 1710. Silver case, tiered, smooth, à goutte, large lateral hinge. Dial is silver, decorated with Champlevé and in high relief with flags, cannons, trumpets and other military motifs. The centre with radial Roman hours “I-VI”, outer minute scale 6 x “1-60”, window for day and month indication, auxiliary seconds, blued hand. Full plate movement, keywind, applied florally engraved and pierced ornaments, frosted, gilt, chain/fusee, tulip pillars, blued screws, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, very finely engraved pierced balance cock, silver regulator disc.
