A fine and rare English  gilt silver and half pearl set open faced pocket watch with jumping center seconds made for the Chinese market, circa 1837. Frosted gilt bridge movement, florally engraved, keywind, blued screws, going barrel, English lever escapement, mono-metallic screwed balance, blued balance spring. Florally engraved gold cuvette. Case engine turned to the back, translucent cobalt blue enamelled, the center with a stylized half pearl set flower, bezels and pendant half pearl set, casemaker’s punch mark IM. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, jumping center seconds and spoon shaped gold hands. Movement signed.
