Pocket watch with a representation of a horse’s head with a wreath

An exquisite pocket watch with enamel painting and original box, made by chronometer maker A.H. Rodanet in Paris, France, circa 1910. The extremely elegant open faced case is crafted from silver and has a representation of a horse’s head with a wreath of honour and two fine white enamel rings on the back. The cuvette is numbered with the same number as the movement and carries the inscription “A. H. Rodanet Horloger De La Marine De L’Etat”. The white enamel dial has an outer ring for the minutes and hours with black Arabic numerals for the hours, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and pink gold hands. The gilt movement has a lever escapement.
