His shop was in rue Richelieu (1850) and rue Vivienne 22 (1860-1900). Poitevin supplied quality watches, watches with complications, such as watches with striking mechanisms, chronographs and 1st class chronometers with a Geneva bulletin Observatory. In Bordeaux there was a shop in Quai des Chartons 4 for a few years. More important was the shop in Geneva. This was first in Rue du Mont-Blanc 17 (1861) and Rue du Mont-Blanc 21 in 1870. From 1880 Rizzoli Dechamps succeeded Bernard Poitevin. From 1900 to 1935 the company was taken over by L. Gironde. He continued to run the company as Poitevin, Gironde Succeseurs. In Geneva, the store was at 14 Boulevard James-Fazy. The Paris firm stayed at Rue Vivienne. Poitevin also delivered watches to Louis Raby e.g. No. 6890. with striking mechanism.
