A fine English 18 carat gold open faced gentleman’s pocket watch made by James McCabe in London, circa 1867. The polished case with maker’s punch mark AS for Alfred Stram. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with radial Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, auxiliary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued spade hands. The frosted gilt 4/5 plate movement is signed, has a chain and fusee, English lever escapement, gold balance and chatoned diamond endstone on the balance.
