A fine and unusual, slim French, 18K varicoloured gold and enamel lady’s pendant watch, circa 1780. A Lepine type with concealed hinge, back with champlevé enamel in blue, white, green, and red, border in applied varicoloured gold, floral wreath set with ruby pastes, bezels in champlevé enamel and in a repeated engraved pattern. White enamel dial, radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 3 o’clock. Gold Breguet hands. A hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement with brass escape wheel, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock. Movement signed. Property of a Swiss Gentleman.
