An interesting French 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl-set gentleman’s open faced pocket watch, circa 1800. Frosted gilt full plate movement, signed, keywind, chain and fusee, verge escapement, now converted to lever, retaining fusee, with finely made gold lever incorporating a banking pin and a gold escape wheel, heavy plain gold balance with overcoiled spring, index regulator.
White enamel dial with bold Roman chapters, pierced gold arrow hands.
The case back with en grisaille scene on translucent cobalt blue enamelling over a guilloché background depicting a couple in the garden surrounded by a white border, the front and back bezel studded with half pearls, pendant with push-button to open the front. Signed Breguet à Paris.
