An exquisite and super flat Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced pocket watch made by Vacheron in Geneva, circa 1835. Retailed by Breting Frères in Geneva. The case back features a polychrome enamel scene on a translucent blue enamel ground showing an alpine landscape with a goatherd, surrounded by white enamelled floral and foliate decoration and an engraved outer rim, the cuvette is signed. The silver dial has Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions, an engraved scene in the center and original blued moon hands. The extremely flat cylinder movement is of the finest Geneva quality, with special negative winding shafts similar to the Bagnolet caliber. Comes with its probably original presentation box and a matching key.
