Miniature pocket watch with pearl setting

A miniature gold and enamel full hunter cased watch with pearl setting and chatelaine in original box, made by A. Morel & Cie. In Paris, France, circa 1850. This watch has a full hunter case crafted from 18 carat gold and is lavishly enamelled and set with half Oriental pearls on both sides. The chatelaine, also made of 18 carat gold and silver features an enamelled coat of arms and a crown set with Oriental pearls. The white enamel dial has Arabic 15 minute- and hour numerals and gold hands and the movement features a verge escapement.
The box is signed.

The watch is housed in its original box, which bears the initials G.M. and an embossed nine pointed crown matching that on the chatelaine, suggesting it likely belonged to a countess.
Only one other verge watch from this maker is known to have survived with both its original chatelaine and box.
