Gold enamelled pearl set repeating watch
–
A very fine quarter repeating pocket watch made by De Belle in Paris, France, circa 1800. The open faced case of this watch, which was crafted from 18 carat gold, is of outstanding quality, has blue engine turned enamel on the back, is set by exceptionally large Oriental pearls, all of which are original, a pendant also set with a pearl and a tiny opening button in the case band. The screwed white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and beautiful pink gold hands. The numbered movement has a verge escapement, repeating the hours and quarter hours.
The movement is signed.
