An extremely decorative golden Spindeluhr (verge) with pearls and blue enamel cartouches, made in France, circa 1800. The open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold and it has a coin edge set with valuable natural pearls on both sides and so called, oriental, pearls on the front with a spring lid mechanism and a sunray decoration on the back. The extremely beautiful golden dial has blue enamel cartouches for the hours and filigree Breguet steel hands and the movement has a flat verge escapement.
