French pink gold half hunting cased pocket watch in chronometer quality with a very rare calibre, circa 1890. A movement with a chronometer quality calibre with lever escapement and screw compensation balance.
A very solid engine turned case, the front with black enamel Roman hour numerals and an inner minute track on a polished chapter ring, hallmarked with the Besancon Viper. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minutes numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, and original steel hands. Case numbered, cuvette signed numbered and inscribed.
