An early lépine watch with virgule escapement, made in France, circa 1780. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, has a lateral hinge and cord band and a small high relief with bird motifs in three different colours gold in the center on the back. The white enamel dial has Arabic five minute- and Roman hour numerals and beautiful gold hands. The extremely flat movement with has an early virgule escapement in manner of Lépine.
