A fine French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with special chain, circa 1800. This watch features a continental movement with verge escapement and key winding. It has a white enamel dial with Breguet style radial hour markers, an outer minute track, and blued steel Breguet style hands. The case is made of 18 carat gold with a smooth finish. The dust cover and mechanism bear the apocryphal signature of Berthoud à Paris, and the metal key is attached. Additionally, it comes with a chain for the watch, crafted in 18 carat yellow gold with a Russian mesh design, measuring 26 cm in length and weighing 20 grams.
