Gold open faced cylinder watch

A French 18 carat gold and champlevé enamel dress pocket watch made by Leroy & Fils, circa 1830. It has a hand wound mechanical movement with a cylinder escapement and key winding. The inner back cuvette is signed Leroy & Fils, Horlogers du Roi. The engine turned silver dial displays Roman numerals for the hours, a minute track, and gold Breguet style hands. The watch has a round, melon form, scallop shaped, solid gold case beautifully decorated on the bezel, band, and back cover with floral motifs and foliate scrolls in black, white, and translucent blue champlevé enamel. It is complete with an intricately engraved round bow and a matching crown pendant.
